A new three-year Memorandum of Understanding between Internship South East Asia and Herrington International School will open international internship opportunities, career development programmes, and teacher exchange initiatives for students and educators in Phnom Penh and beyond.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia — 18 June 2026. Internship South East Asia (ISEA), a UK-registered organisation specialising in internship placement and professional development across Southeast Asia, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Herrington International School (HIS), one of Cambodia’s leading international schools. Formalised on 16 June 2026, the strategic partnership creates a structured framework for international internship opportunities, career readiness training, teacher professional development, and cultural exchange programmes — connecting Cambodia’s next generation of talent to the global stage.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in ISEA’s ongoing mission to bridge the gap between education and real-world work experience across the region, while reinforcing HIS’s commitment to preparing its students for international careers and global citizenship.
About the Partnership
The MoU formally establishes HIS as the preferred educational partner of ISEA in Cambodia, creating a dedicated and ongoing pipeline of opportunities for HIS students, graduates, teachers, and staff. Both organisations will collaborate across four core areas: internship and career development, teacher and staff professional growth, joint educational programming, and co-branded community events and initiatives.
For HIS students and alumni, ISEA will provide priority access to internship placements across Cambodia and Southeast Asia, alongside hands-on career readiness workshops covering CV writing, interview preparation, and professional networking. Teachers and educators at HIS will gain access to international teacher internship and exchange opportunities, bringing global classroom practices and industry insights back to Phnom Penh.
Exclusive Programmes: From Campus Ambassadors to a Global Internship Hub
One of the most distinctive elements of the partnership is the designation of HIS as an official ISEA International Internship Hub in Cambodia — a status that reflects a deep, long-term commitment rather than a one-off collaboration. This designation lays the groundwork for a series of exclusive joint programmes that neither organisation could deliver alone.
Selected HIS students will be appointed as official ISEA Campus Ambassadors, playing an active role in raising international career awareness on campus and connecting their peers with internship opportunities across the region. A jointly administered Global Internship Scholarship Fund will also be established to support outstanding students pursuing international placements.
Other exclusive programmes under the MoU include the Graduate Placement Programme, which offers a fast-track internship and career pathway for HIS graduates entering the workforce; the Teacher International Exposure Programme, providing short-term overseas observation placements for HIS educators; and the Summer Internship Academy, an annual programme blending leadership training, entrepreneurship, and real workplace experience. An International Volunteer Programme will further extend the partnership’s community impact through social initiatives engaging local and international participants alike.

Strengthening the UK–Cambodia Education Bridge
ISEA’s UK-registered status positions it as a natural bridge between British educational standards and Cambodia’s rapidly developing professional landscape. The partnership with HIS — an international school whose tagline is Education Beyond Borders — reflects a deeply shared vision.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that education must extend beyond the classroom,” said Mr. Tom Starkey, Founder and Director of ISEA. “By combining ISEA’s internship network across Southeast Asia with HIS’s world-class learning environment, we are creating real, accessible pathways for the next generation of global leaders.”
Mr. Kevin Hieng, Chairman of Herrington International School, echoed this sentiment: “At HIS, we believe every student deserves an education that prepares them for the world. This partnership with ISEA gives our students a direct pathway into real international work experience, and it gives our teachers the global exposure they need to keep our classrooms current and ambitious.”
The MoU runs for an initial term of three years from the date of signing, with the option for renewal by mutual agreement.
How to Get Involved
The partnership is open to HIS students, graduates, and alumni who are interested in international internship placements and career development programmes across Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Teachers and school staff seeking professional development through international exchange are equally encouraged to reach out.
ISEA provides end-to-end support for all participants, including placement matching, pre-departure preparation, relocation assistance, on-the-ground onboarding, and continuous professional development throughout the internship period.
